Mr. Boreham was an Associate member of our Association for more than 40 years.

Although he has retired, his legacy of commitment and service to our indstry and to his fellow citizens continues as an inspiration to many. And he continues to serve with untiring devotion.

A native of Los Angeles, he was a charter member of the American Business Conference and was chairman of the workplace literacy team of the Arkansas Governor’s Commission on Adult Literacy. In 2002, he was inducted into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame.

He retired at the close of 2004 after 24 years as chairman of the board of Baldor Electric Company. He joined the company in 1961 as vice president of sales, moving to executive vice president in 1970, and president in 1975.

In 1978, he was named Chief Executive Officer and, in 1981, chairman.

He has served as a director of Baldor Electric and USA Truck, Inc. In the non-profit sphere, he serves on the boards of the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith Foundation, the Sparks Regional Medical Center Foundation, and the United Way of Fort Smith Foundation.

He is a lifetime trustee of the University of the Ozarks and the Bost Foundation. He previously served as a trustee of Regional Medical Center, the Salvation Army, the American Heart Association, and the Fort Smith Museum of History.

He continues to serve as a consultant to Baldor Electric. Additionally, he serves as a visiting professor in the engineering program at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith.

Except for two, he has attended every EASA convention since 1962.

He definitely exemplifies the notion of service.
